I had undergone a cataract operation in my left eye in 2009 at Bokaro General Hospital. Immediately after the operation I told the doctor that a double image was forming all the time in front of my left eye. The doctor said nothing could be done. Meanwhile, my right eye had developed a cataract. On a friend’s advice I came to LVPEI on 3rd October. I was operated upon by Dr Bhupesh Bagga and his team. Dr Bagga also operated on my left eye. I express my sincere gratitude to them because they have given me new vision … I can see clearly and my old problem has been cured.

When you told me that Aditya is now completely cured from squint, for the first time in my life I felt what true happiness is. It seems the feeling is even more so than when Aditya was born! All thanks to you! You of course have said it is all God's wish but it is also true that He gifted you the skills to complete and complement God's own creation — which you so humbly do each day of your life. All of your patients must be so thankful to have benefited by your work! I am sure Aditya will also appreciate it when he comes of age and realizes how you have changed and gifted him his life back.

I had mailed you in December 2010 regarding my son Tarun (name changed). My son has tuberous sclerosis and related vision issues. We are heavily indebted to doctors and rehabilitation therapists at your hospital. Our son was being seen by Dr Niranjan Pehere for quite some time. We learnt that he had shifted to your new facility at Vijayawada. Since both Hyderabad and Vijayawada are equidistant for us and since he had been extremely sincere and understanding, we decided to go to Vijayawada.
Dr Niranjan is one of the best doctors with you! I am telling you with full confidence and experience, being a doctor myself. He is all ears to every minute problem that we narrate, whether it is related to his specialty or not. He heard everything, made mental notes, and gave us typed suggestions as notes! This was awesome because we did not see any pen or paper anywhere near him when we discussed our son's problems, but he made notes and prepared suggestions for each of them, typed them and gave us a print!! It was a miracle! I am yet to meet such a dedicated, learned, as well as, patient doctor in my life.
He also took care of small issues like our food, our stay and even conveyance to reach the hospital! Who cares or bothers about anybody so much nowadays?
Our son is doing great! He has some vision related issues, which we are sure will be solved to the extent possible, under the care of doctors like Dr Niranjan. This young and learned doctor needs to be appreciated by one and all.

My son got the deadliest parasites (acanthamoeba keratitis) and, worse, there was no treatment available in UAE. We got to know that in Asia, it's only treated in LVPEI and fortunately we are originally from Hyderabad. I could not have imagined the treatment that is extended in LVPEI. My first meeting with Dr Muralidhar had taken away all my fears and worries. Seeing the man I knew he is the doctor who can heal my son. Dr Muralidhar is not only a very good doctor, but he is a GEM of a person. I have no words to thank him. I wish there is one Dr Muralidhar in all the hospitals all over the world. God bless him.

Hi all, I am Amandeep S Narang from Pune, an IT professional. I was blessed with a baby boy on 5th March 2011. Within 2 months, i.e., in May we came to know from his pediatrician that the baby was suffering from unilateral cataract in the right eye.
We were stunned and feeling very helpless, wondering what we could do to save his vision. We raced around to get eye check-ups done from the best eye specialists and hospitals from Nagpur, Pune and Bombay, as per the suggestions of our near and dear ones. Days passed, but we did not find a solution to my child’s problem as every doctor had his own opinion but was not ready to take up surgery due to the age of the baby. A few even scared us by saying he could lose his vision.
Hearing all this made us scared to allow them to perform surgery on the baby. Then I came across L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, while searching online. I made up my mind to get him checked here once. On 17 May 2011 I got an appointment with Dr Amit Gupta.
Positive vibes began right away when I met your excellent staff members Premila & Pravin who pampered my child and understood our feelings during this difficult time, while balancing it with their official responsibilities. They are very strong pillars of this institute. .About Dr Amit Gupta, all I can say is that "God understands our prayers even when we can't find the words to say them!" My family and I will always be thankful to them.
My experience with L V Prasad Eye Institute was above and beyond my expectations. I could not even think how I had struggled for a couple of months to get the right treatment for my son. With the help of L V Prasad Eye Institute such a major surgery happened so smoothly and, in no time, they gave me a safe and healthy future for my child.

LVPEI is not only world-class in the work they do, but even more impressive is the fact that the hospital is a non-profit group and more than 50 per cent of its patients who cannot pay one way or another are rendered free care.

Dear Dr Rao
The other day I had the opportunity to take my father to LVPEI and was amazed to see how well it is being managed. The one thought that kept bouncing was that such a setup cannot be managed merely through processes or for that matter, monetary benefits to employees; there surely has to be something more to it. After a few deliberations and a few more visits to the institute I realized it is the bond that the employees or the people working there associate or relate to. An idea of benevolent service is in my words truly realized.

Right from the time we came to the reception, where we were whisked away by your staff to fill in a detailed form, to the waiting area, the quick movements from one test situation to the other, the kind of equipment that is available at LVPEI, the work that is done, and the completely professional approach to health care - which is evident in the attitude of all the staff. I have registered myself for penetrating keratoplasty at Sankara Nethralaya and am awaiting their call for the surgery as soon as a suitable donor cornea has been identified. My son Mr Bharadwaj was operated upon by you when he was hardly 11 months old, way back in 1988-89. Subsequently, he has been under the able care of Dr Anil K Mandal. Now my son is 21, and has stood first in his B Sc physics exams of Mumbai University. In September 2009 he is leaving for higher studies to Germany — he has been selected for a Master’s course in Astrophysics of Bonn University.
It is a pleasant coincidence that he will be doing a Master’s that will need him to use highly sophisticated optical instruments, which is possible due to the good care he got from you all. We as a family are indebted to you and LVPEI team for taking good care of our son.
