A Pleasant Personal Experience at L V Prasad Eye Institute
What I found was a very professional and memorable experience notwithstanding the long wait mainly due to the number of people that come.
We had an appointment for a family of three children - the eldest son had become totally blind and the other two had symptoms similar to those of the elder one. This very poor family was from a small village in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh with very limited means. A small social service organization, I & Eye, decided to bring them to Hyderabad by taking care of travel and miscellaneous expenses.
The children’s mother could speak only Telugu, so the staff at the institute who were not conversant with the language brought in help to understand and record this unique case. All three children were given due attention free of charge and a follow-up MRI was advised for the youngest, a girl, free of cost at another organization. The eldest was advised rehabilitation and the second son given a follow-up appointment in two weeks as the boy did not cooperate fully and because his problem seemed complicated and required detailed investigation.
I wish to express my personal appreciation of the professionalism, dedication to duty of all the staff, the doctors' patience and exemplary thoroughness. I sincerely appreciate L V Prasad Eye Institute and all those who helped us that day. Our faith that our Bharat is really Mahaan gets reinforced...
