The AO Foundation (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefrage, which in German means Association for the Study of Internal Fixation) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the care of people with bone and muscle injuries. AO-CMF is a multispecialty world-wide sub-division of AO, consisting of Cranio Maxillofacial Surgeons, who specialize in injuries of the face. Dr Naik is an Oculoplastic surgeon at LVPEI and specializes in facial injuries around the eye. His academic achievements propelled him into this new role within the global AOCMF community.
