The CME 'Cornea Unplugged: The Way Forward' (March 3-4, 2012) was aimed at reviewing developments in the field of cornea and external eye diseases and eye banking. International and national stalwarts from around the globe graced the meeting. The auditorium was packed with 290 delegates from various institutions, including LVPEI alumni who were present in full strength.

Dr Joseph Frucht-Pery (Hadassah University Hospital, Jerusalem, Israel), Mr Manoj Gulati (SightLife, India), Dr Jodhbir S Mehta (Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore), Mr Monty Montoya (SightLife, USA), Dr Verinder S Nirankari (MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, USA), Dr Prema Padmanabhan (Sankara Netralaya, Chennai), Dr Srinivas K Rao (Darshan Eye Clinic, Chennai), Dr David Rootman (University Health Network, Toronto, Canada), Dr M Srinivasan (Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai), and Mr Dean Vavra (North Carolina Eye Bank, NC, USA).
The symposium was complemented by a 'Skills Transfer Course' on March 2, 2012 with hands-on training sessions on DALK, DSEK and keratoprosthesis techniques. The delegates appreciated the program and the learning, rating it very high for its practical exposure.

Ms Karen Tan, High Commissioner of Singapore visited the campus on March 6, 2012. The campus launched a one-month free screening program for women from March 7, 2012 at its City Centre. Patient Care In-charge Dr Avinash Pathengay highlighted the need for this initiative, as
