World Glaucoma Week
A series of activities marked Glaucoma Awareness Week, March 10 - 17, 2013. The focus this year was on early detection and prevention, the importance of screening family members of patients with glaucoma, and educating the public on the harmful effects of prolonged steroid use.
Workshop for Resource Centre Librarians
LVPEI hosted a workshop “A Solution in Sight”, March 18 – 20. The participating core resource centres are part of the Global Sight Network Initiative coordinated by the Seva Foundation,
which along with the Association of Vision Science Librarians (AVSL), and the support of a three-year grant from the Elsevier Foundation’s ‘Innovative Libraries in Developing Countries’ initiative, is working with eight resource centres in five developing countries to improve access to global ophthalmic resources.
Eye Screening at Eenadu Good Health Show
The LVPEI stall at the ‘Eenadu Good Health Show’ organized at the Swarna Bharati Indoor Stadium on 2nd and 3rd March 2013, showcased optical and non-optical devices, patient education brochures and conducted free eye screening.
