LVPEI expands its reach in Odhisha

On 31st August, LVPEI inaugurated its 14th rural Secondary Care Service Centre in Rayagada, Odisha with the support from, Nariandas & Morbai Budhrani Trust; JK Center for Tribal Eye Health; and Mission for Vision. The Centre was inaugurated by Shri Naveen Patnaik - Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha.

Four New Vision Centres Inaugurated

With the help of local support, four new vision centres were inaugurated between July to September in Andhra Pradesh – Visakhapatnam district: 2 Centres; Vizianagram district: 1 Centre; and Krishna district: 1 Centre. We have now 124 Primary Care Vision Centres, 14 Secondary Care Centres, 3 Tertiary Centres and our flagship Centre of Excellence.

ReDX: Rethinking Engineering Design eXecution

LVPEI, in collaboration with members of Camera Culture group, MIT Media Lab, conducted the third edition of the 'ReDx: Engineering the Eye Workshop', 5-11 July. ReDx is a platform to build the next generation of healthcare technologies. Shri K T Rama Rao, Honourable Minister for Panchayat Raj & IT, Telangana State, inaugurated the event. The workshop received participation of about 100 Engineering and Design students from all across India.

Training Program for Eye Care Professionals

51st Indian Contact Lens Program (ICLEP); 3-5 Jul: To educate eye care practitioners on the successful management of ocular conditions using current specialty contact lenses and also to promote basic and advanced contact

lens education.

A series of workshops & CME; 3 Jul: LVPEI Bhubaneswar campus celebrated its 9th anniversary through a series of workshops and CME to mark the occasion.

Looking Beyond The Eye – IV; 12 Jul: Fruitful discussion took place among various super sub-specialist pertaining to the diagnostic and management issues of ocular (eye) diseases; on the occasion of 9th Anniversary of LVPEI GMR Varalakshmi campus in Visakhapatnam.

22nd Annual IERG-India ARVO Chapter Meeting; 25-26 Jul: The 4th Association for Research in Vision Ophthalmology (ARVO) India Conference and the 22nd meeting of the Indian Eye Research Group (IERG) exposed budding researchers, scientists and clinicians to excellent scientific deliberations in ophthalmic sciences.

CROSSFIRE: Controversies in Retinal Imaging, 2 Aug: A conference on retinal and choroidal imaging, with emphasis on analysis and the appropriate use of new and emerging imaging technologies.

34th Low Vision Awareness Program (LAP); 18 Sep: Comprised of hands-on sessions, lectures and case discussions and helped participants explore various low vision devices.

Glaucoma Implant Workshop; 29 & 30 Sep: To understand the surgical principles of Glaucoma drainage devices implantation, their techniques, associated complications and their management.
