Tapas Ranjan Padhi, a gold medalist in MS Ophthalmology from JIPMER, Pondhicherry, completed a two-year fellowship in retina from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennia; followed by a research fellowship in pediatric retina, electrophysiology and retinal dystrophy from University of Michigan, USA. He received the ARVO collaborative research fellowship award for the year 2014-15 and was a visiting scholar at Associated Retina Consultants, Royal Oak, USA in pediatric retina. Tapas has to his credits more than 40 papers in peer reviewed journals and has served as principal and co-investigators in many multicentric randomized clinical trials. In 2015 he was honoured with the prestigious Biswambar Rajguru Oration award by the Odisha State Ophthalmological Society. His core areas of interest are advanced vitreoretinal surgeries and related research, with a special focus on Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). Dr Padhi heads the electrophysiology services across the LVPEI network and has been actively involved in research related to electrophysiology and retinal dystrophies.
