Information for Patients

Suraksha is a new LVPEI initiative to facilitate personalized cataract surgery services specifically aimed at NRI parents and families.

Suraksha is aimed at providing a comprehensive day care cataract surgical package including

  • escorted transportation to and from the hospital (for residents of Hyderabad and Secunderabad)
  • language and diet assistance
  • coordination for a detailed preoperative evaluation with LVPEI specialist ophthalmologists
  • internal medicine consultation for coexisting systemic diseases
  • surgery on the day and at time convenient to the patient
  • surgery by the surgeon of choice
  • surgery with state-of-the-art equipment and international standard consumables
  • constant monitoring during surgery by an anesthetist, and post-operative care
  • all Sight Savers privileges including special lounge and private suites for an overnight stay if required

Our exceptional medical expertise is matched by our commitment to personalized care. From initial inquiries through follow-up medical care, our liaisons act as a single point of contact to assist patients throughout their stay. Our patient care team will be glad to organize convenient hotel accommodation and transportation from the airport for patients from out of town.
In addition to a personal call by the surgeon to the NRI sponsor, a complete report of the eye examination, surgery and the final outcome will be sent by e-mail.

We will be glad to organize a personalized comprehensive eye examination and a range of surgical procedures for glaucoma, retinal disorders, eye cancer, eyelid and lacrimal disorders, squint, etc. Please contact our patient care executive for specific details.

Supporters help the Institute reach out to the community at large by paying twice the charges paid by general patients. Each supporter's generosity enables the Institute to support one non-paying patient.

  • Special waiting lounge for outpatients and surgical care patients 
  • Special Care for surgical and resident patients

Diagnostic charges, if any, will be charged at double the cost to general patients.

Sight Savers
Sight savers form a foundational source of support for LVPEI and empower the Institute to realize the vision of offering excellent and equitable services to the disadvantaged. The vision and generosity of sight savers helps us strengthen the existing infrastructure and update clinical facilities.

Sight savers contribute to the cause of eye care in two ways: by opting to pay more towards the services utilized by them or by offering generous donations and/or supporting ongoing programs. 
The Sight Savers Program was launched as a response to a need felt by the very privileged in our country, for more personalized services. A significant number of people from the privileged sections of our society seek medical care in the western countries. But there are some who would rather have the same quality of care within the country.

This program combines excellent medical care with an individualized approach, in a comfortable and well designed space. Sight Savers enable us to offer quality eye care to the disadvantaged members of our society. As part of the special services offered to Sight Savers and Supporters, an exclusive facility was set up for their comfort and convenience, known as The Pavilion.
