Services L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) is
a centre for excellent, efficient, and equitable eye care, employing the most
advanced sight-saving medical and surgical techniques. Since its inception in
1987 LVPEI has grown from strength to strength, while continuing to meet the needs
of the community in many, many ways. The Institute is now a World Health Organization
Collaborating Centre for the Prevention of Blindness. The Institute's
charter calls for a minimum 50 percent of its services to be rendered free of
cost to the economically underprivileged. We have three categories of service
- general patients, supporters and sight savers. Supporters and sight savers contribute
to the services we render free of cost to the economically underprivileged. Here
are some details about each category and the services offered to them.
