Distance Vision Telescopes
The vision rehabilitation centre at LVPEI has been working with local manufacturers to develop and manufacture these devices at low cost. The indigenously produced hand-held telescope is now available at an affordable price.
Telescopic lenses increase the retinal image without decreasing the working distance from the object. They are used for magnification at any distance, and can be hand-held or mounted. They are used for reading the blackboard, street and bus signs, and watching television. For near vision, they can be used for reading or vocational tasks, such as viewing computer screens.
Development of Aspheric Lenses
We have developed aspheric surface lenses for the first time in India in collaboration with the following
organisations:
