Clinical Laboratory Services
Fully equipped clinical laboratories enable us to perform
all the investigations required for effective diagnosis,
preoperative evaluation of surgical patients or patient
management. Some of the tests performed routinely include
blood sugar, blood urea, serum creatinine, serum electrolytes,
complete blood picture and complete urine examination.

Medical Records Department
The storage and timely retrieval of medical records
is crucial to a hospital's efficient functioning, especially
when dealing with a large number of long-term patients.
Well-maintained medical records are also an important resource
for LVPEI's research, education and training efforts.
The Medical Records Department offers the following special
services:

Maintenance of detailed and comprehensive medical records: The records are filed using the space saving mobile filing rack system, which also makes it easy to retrieve them.

A tracer card system for location of medical records;
- Computerised indexing system including patient alpha index, numbering index, diagnostic index, surgery index and surgeon index;
- ICD-9 coding (1999) of medical records, modified diagnostic and surgical codes;
- Generating day-to-day patient care statistics; and
- A continuing training program for administrative fellows and others.
