The International Centre for Advancement of Rural Eye care (ICARE) was established to organize a large-scale effort to understand the specific problems of eye care in rural India, and make available improved models of eye care to the underserved populations. LVPEI’s ICARE program has approached the problem of avoidable blindness in India - and the need for efficient and equitably distributed eye health centres to provide effective solutions. The ICARE Campus is located at Kismatpur, located 16 kms from the Institute.
