cornea must be harvested within eight hours of death
and is then stored in the McCarey Kaufman
Corneal Preservation Medium for a maximum period
of 96 hours. The Ramayamma International Eye
Bank distributes almost 15,000 vials of the
medium to eye banks across India and
neighbouring countries. |
