The Institute pioneered the Corneal Retrieval program in multidisciplinary hospitals. Trained grief counselors are placed in these hospitals to motivate the family of the deceased to make an eye donation. The success of the eye donation program also enables the Institute to provide ophthalmologists outside the Institute with corneas.
