The
Ramayamma International Eye Bank processes over
2000 corneas every year and also produces about
15,000 vials of the McCarey Kaufman Cornea
Preservation Medium, which it helped develop.
RIEB's proactive hospital cornea retrieval
program enables the Institute to perform corneal
transplantation within a few days, totally
eliminating the waiting list for such surgeries
in Hyderabad.
