Biography
D Lakshmi is a seasoned optometrist with a strong background in low vision and rehabilitation. She completed her Bachelor’s in Optometry and Vision Science from Vinayaka Mission University, Salem, followed by a fellowship in low vision and rehabilitation at LVPEI’s Institute for Vision Rehabilitation in Hyderabad.
With extensive experience providing low-vision services to patients of all age groups with various ophthalmic conditions, Lakshmi has been an integral part of LVPEI since 2006. Currently, she is in charge of low vision services, the special needs vision clinic, and the Vision Technician course at LVPEI’s GMR Varalakshmi campus in Visakhapatnam.
As a teaching and clinical faculty member, she guides optometry interns and focuses on clinical interests like low vision, managing amblyopia, and delivering eye care to children with special needs.
