Biography
Brijesh Takkar completed his primary medical education and then his MD in ophthalmology at the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, and later worked there as a senior registrar in the vitreo retina unit. He has worked as an assistant professor at DMC-Ludhiana and AIIMS-Bhopal, which has contributed to his rich clinical experience before he joined LVPEI.
He researched the field of diabetic retinopathy for 2 years at CSIR- AIIMS, Delhi, gained research experience as an NTSE scholar, and has been certified for good clinical practices by the National Institute of Health, US.
He has over 170 indexed publications and 30 book chapters to his credit, apart from multiple oral and poster presentations at an international level. He has also written and edited a book on retinal surgery. His contributions to ophthalmology include new diseases, new clinical and investigative signs, numerous hypotheses, and new diagnostic and therapeutic methodologies.
