Biography
Dr Harshitha Kadava completed her basic medical education from MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, and her MS in Ophthalmology from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad. This was followed by a long-term fellowship in comprehensive ophthalmology and glaucoma at LVPEI in Hyderabad.
Subsequently, she underwent a one-year Executive Program in Healthcare Management from IIM, Lucknow, while working as a glaucoma specialist at a private organization for three years.
Dr Kadava is a life member of the All Indian Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), the Telangana Ophthalmological Society (TOS), and the Hyderabad Ophthalmologists’ Association (HOA). She has several articles in peer-reviewed journals to her credit and has delivered several presentations at regional, state, and national levels.
Her article, ”Anaesthesia management in a child with Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome posted for examination of both eyes under general anaesthesia: A case report’ was recognized as the Best Article for 2021-22 by the Indian Journal of Ophthalmic Anaesthesia (IJOA).
Her clinical interest is focused on normal tension glaucoma and secondary glaucoma, and the main areas of her surgical interests are in minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries and glaucoma implants.
