Biography
Dr Nidhi Mahendra Vithalani completed her MBBS from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad, followed by a postgraduate degree in ophthalmology from Sumandeep Vidyapeeth, Baroda. She subsequently pursued a long-term comprehensive and vitreoretinal fellowship from 2019 to 2022 at LVPEI in Hyderabad, where she received advanced training in both medical and surgical vitreoretinal disorders.
Following her fellowship, she served as a consultant for two years in vitreoretina, uvea, and ROP services at Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, Chitrakoot. During this tenure, she managed a high surgical volume, developed precision in the diagnosis and management of uveitis, and gained significant experience in delivering quality retinal care to rural and underserved populations.
She has presented scientific papers and posters at numerous national and international ophthalmic conferences and authored multiple publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals, including the BMJ, Ocular Oncology and Pathology, and Retina.
Her clinical and research interests include retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), macular disorders, uveitis, and complex vitreoretinal surgeries. Over the course of her career, she has worked across six different states in India, enhancing her adaptability to varied healthcare systems and patient demographics.
Beyond her professional commitments, Dr Nidhi is deeply interested in Indian mythology and spirituality and enjoys travelling and exploring diverse cuisines in her leisure time.
