Biography
Dr Samir Mohapatra completed his primary medical education from SCB Medical College, Cuttack, and his Master of Surgery in Ophthalmology from VSS Medical College, Burla. He then pursued a fellowship in comprehensive ophthalmology at LVPEI in Hyderabad. He underwent a short observership in orbito-facial reconstruction at the Queen Victoria Hospital, UK, under the mentorship of Dr Raman Malhotra.
His areas of interest include orbital trauma and fractures, orbito-maxillofacial reconstructions, orbital tumours, and lacrimal disorders. His initiative of starting the orbito-maxillofacial unit at the LVPEI, Bhubaneswar, has helped provide quality services to patients with orbital and facial trauma.
Other than clinical activities, Dr Mohapatra is also passionate about playing badminton and loves to paint, travel, and cook.
