Biography
Dr Sushank Bhalerao completed his basic medical education from Government Medical College and Hospital, Aurangabad, and his post-graduation and senior residency from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Allahabad. He later pursued a three-year fellowship in comprehensive ophthalmology with a specialty in ‘Cornea and Anterior Segment’ and ‘Cataract and Refractive Surgeries’ from LVPEI in Hyderabad.
His main areas of clinical interest include cataract surgeries, refractive surgeries (PRK, LASIK, etc.), corneal transplants (PK, DALK, DSAEK, DMEK, etc.), and surgeries involving corneal stem cells (SLET). His research focuses on reducing the incidence and morbidity related to corneal blindness, secondary to corneal scars and various corneal disorders.
Dr Sushank has presented at several national and international conferences, and his research work has also been published in reputed international journals.
