Biography
Dr Prerana A Shetty is a consultant ophthalmologist at LVPEI’s Kode Venkatadri Chowdary campus in Vijayawada. Her clinical expertise includes cornea and anterior segment, cataract, and laser refractive surgery (LASIK).
She completed her MBBS from SDM Medical College, Dharwad, and her MS in Ophthalmology from AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Mangaluru. She subsequently pursued a long-term fellowship in cornea and anterior segment at LVPEI, following which she joined the institute as a full-time consultant. Dr Shetty is also a Diplomate of the National Board (DNB) and holds the FAICO (Fellow of All India Collegium of Ophthalmology) in cornea.
Dr Shetty is a life member of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), the Cornea Society of India, and the Karnataka Ophthalmic Society. Her primary clinical interests include cataract surgeries, refractive procedures such as PRK and LASIK, and corneal transplantation techniques, including PK, DALK, DSAEK, and DMEK.
She has presented her work at several national and international conferences, and her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals.
