Biography
Soumya Panda did her Bachelor’s degree in optometry from LVPEI in Bhubaneswar. This was followed by a three-month fellowship in low vision rehabilitation at LVPEI in Hyderabad. She later joined LVPEI’s Institute for Vision Rehabilitation in Bhubaneswar as a consultant optometrist.
She has a rich and extensive experience of providing low-vision services to more than 5,000 patients across all age groups with different conditions like AMD, albinism, aniridia, cone dystrophy, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, heredomacular degenerations, Leber’s congenital amaurosis, microphthalmos, optic atrophy, retinitis pigmentosa, retinopathy of prematurity, rod cone dystrophy, rod monochromatism, Stargardt’s disease, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and many more.
She has presented at several national and international conferences and has co-authored research papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
