Dr Shivaji Sisinthy: His book on ‘Human Ocular Microbiome: Bacteria, Fungi and Viruses in the human eye’ has been published by Springer. The book discusses the gut microbiome, and details a key underexplored microbial niche in the human body: our eyes.

Dr Joveeta Joseph: Selected as Mentor for the ARVO (Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) Global Mentorship Program 2022.

Dr Amithavikram H: Awarded the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision (ISCEV) Travel Grant to present his research work at their annual meeting.

Dr Kavya Chandran: Awarded first prize in the ‘Surgical Anterior Segment Video Competition’ organized by the Young Ophthalmologists Society of India.

Dr P Vinay Kumar (Mentor - Dr Indumathi Mariappan): Awarded PhD from the University of Hyderabad for his thesis topic ‘Understanding the role of PAX6 in corneal epithelial regulation at the limbal niche’.

Dhanwini Rudraprasad (Mentor - Dr Joveeta Joseph): Second place winner of the Cora Verhagen award and cash prize (best ocular immunology poster or paper presented by graduate students and post-doctoral fellows) for her presentation at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology annual meeting.
