LVPEI's 178th Vision Centre was inaugurated on 27 January 2019 at Muniguda in Rayagada District, Odisha. WEN Giving Foundation and Mission for Vision have provided the capital support whereas the rent-free premises for the centre has been given by New Hope Rural Leprosy Trust. Present during the inauguration were Mr Albrecht. Schaal, Ms Elisabeth Schweizer, Dr Karen Schaal (Ophthalmologist from Germany), Mrs Ruth Rose and Mr Ranjeet Rose from New Hope Rural Leprosy Trust; Mr Shubhrakanti Bhattacharya from Mission for Vision; and people from local administrative authorities and community.
