Biography
Dr Sameera Nayak completed her residency in ophthalmology at the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack. She then pursued two long-term fellowships in comprehensive ophthalmology and one long-term fellowship in vitreo-retina from LVPEI, Hyderabad, before joining the Kode Venkatadri Chowdary Campus, Vijayawada.
She is the recipient of the Dr Carl Herbort Award by the Uveitis Society of India in 2013 for the best paper presentation. She has been a national scholarship holder throughout her career. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.
Her areas of interest are diabetic retinopathy, macular diseases, uveitis, retinopathy of prematurity, and ocular trauma. She has several papers and poster presentations to her credit and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals.
