LVPEI's secondary centre, Venkata Lakshmi Eye Centre, celebrated its 20th anniversary. Located at Karamchedu, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, it was established with the generous support received from the Late Dr Daggubati Ramanaidu, a noted film producer and Dada Saheb Phalke award winner. 'The centre has been one of the most satisfying philanthropic activities for our family', says his son, Mr Suresh Daggubati. Over 500,000 people have benefited from the services provided at the centre, of which 70% received care at no cost. The operation theatre complex at the centre was set up with the support received from Operation Eyesight Universal.
