The 28th annual meeting (hybrid) of Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO)- India was held at LVPEI’s Hyderabad campus and was attended by 304 delegates. The major hallmark of the program were the three named oration lectures delivered by Prof Mark Petrash, Executive Vice President, ARVO, Dr K Thangaraj, Director, Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad and Dr Mahesh P Shanmugam, Chair of Sankara Eye Hospitals, Bangalore. The meeting kickstarted with 8 pre-conference workshops covering multiple aspects of translational and fundamental eye research and technological advances, followed by presentations representing the length and breadth of eye research across the country - 3 keynotes, 5 special talks and 17 free papers and 136 posters. Special awards for presentations, including travel awards, were given to members-in-training.
