35th Anniversary

On June 1, 1987, LVPEI commenced its patient care services with the vision ‘so that all may see’. The initial support came from the renowned Indian film-maker Sri Akkineni Lakshmi Vara Prasad Rao, popularly known as L V Prasad. Over the years, his son Mr Ramesh Prasad and family has continued to support the Institute's work. What started then has today blossomed into a network of 260+ tertiary and advanced tertiary and secondary and primary rural eye care centres across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Karnataka in India.

Joining us as the Guest of Honour on the 35th anniversary celebrations was – Mr Kishore Kothapalli, a renowned Technologist, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, and a long-time supporter of LVPEI. Cultural performances by the employees, made the celebrations even more special. A blood donation drive was also organized at LVPEI’s Hyderabad campus in collaboration with the NTR Trust. 171 units of blood was collected in support children with eye cancer and non-paying patients at LVPEI.
