We are proud to announce a significant milestone at LVPEI. Drusti Daan Eye Bank has now received over 20,000 donor corneas for transplantation, and research.
Each of these donations represents:
- A life transformed through corneal transplantation.
- A family’s courageous decision in a moment of loss.
- A renewed future for someone living with corneal blindness.
Corneal blindness is one of the leading causes of reversible blindness in India. Unlike many other eye conditions, it can be treated only through donated corneal tissue. A single donor can restore sight to two people, giving them independence, dignity, and the chance to rebuild their lives.
