Celebration time for the ONAs

With the aim to create comprehensive ophthalmic nurses who can provide complete ophthalmic nursing care with utmost sincerity and compassion, LVPEI initiated the Ophthalmic Nurse Assistant Program (ONA) in 2001. Till date, 500 trainees from across the states in India, including states such as Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Assam and Madhya Pradesh, have undergone this training. LVPEI has also trained candidates from  Liberia, Nigeria, Myanmar and Ghana. These ONAs make a very strong work force at LVPEI and are no less than the backbone of the Institute. It was heartening to see the current group of ONA trainees celebrate Pana Sankranthi, the Odiya New Year with full zeal and enthusiasm.
