Cognizant Foundation Leadership visits LVPEI Odisha

Over the course of three days, the leadership team from Cognizant Foundation (CF) visited the LVPEI Mithu Tulsi Chanrai (MTC) Campus, Bhubaneswar, to review the progress of the Sight4All: ROP Screening & Treatment Program across Odisha.

During the visit, Mr Kasturi Balaji (Director, Cognizant Foundation) and Ms Usha Rani (Program Director, Cognizant Foundation) experienced first-hand the comprehensive ROP care ecosystem that has been thoughtfully built in collaboration with Cognizant Foundation since 2019. Ms Rani and Mr Balaji engaged closely with caregivers and families, listening to their stories and understanding the real-life impact of timely intervention.

The Cognizant team observed the end-to-end ROP care journey from early identification to treatment, including the real-time tele screening model that seamlessly connects the MTC campus to 23 districts across Odisha. They also witnessed the robust care infrastructure designed to provide fast-tracked, safe, and high-quality services for preterm infants within a strong clinical safety net.

Travelling to Cuttack and Puri districts to see the program in action at the grassroots level, helped Cognizant Foundation gain deeper insights into the outreach efforts and last-mile service delivery.

The leadership team at Cognizant Foundation appreciated the program’s clinical excellence, innovation, and unwavering commitment to eliminating avoidable ROP-related blindness. The visit not only highlighted the program’s impact but also reinforced the shared vision of Cognizant Foundation and LVPEI to ensure that every preterm infant in Odisha has access to timely, equitable, and life-changing eye care.
