A training session was organized for nurses working in operation theatres and in-patient wards and for the theatre technicians on 28 July 2019 at LVPEI Visakhapatnam. The following topics were covered - basics of the eye, aseptic techniques, pre and post-operative management of patients and how to effectively assist in surgeries. It was part of the LVPEI’s continuous professional development program and had a mix of didactic lectures, video presentations, live demonstrations and hands-on sessions. The training was attended by 37 participants.
