Dhruv Sharma receives First Prize for Research Poster at ISHG 2026

At the 50th Annual Meeting of Indian Society of Human Genetics (ISHG), held at PGIMER Chandigarh, Dhruv Sharma, Grad Student, received the First Prize in the Poster Session for his study titled 'To Investigate the Role of Intraflagellar Transport Protein Gene IFT88 in Leber Congenital Amaurosis and Retinitis Pigmentosa in Indian Patients'.

His work sheds important light on the genetic mechanisms behind inherited retinal diseases. This study was initiated under the mentorship of Dr Chitra Kannabiran and Dr Indumathi Mariappan. Following their departure from the institute, the work was further supervised by Dr Anshuman Verma.
