LVPEI’s Ophthalmic Pathology Laboratory is now equipped with a highly advanced ‘Digital Slide Scanner Facility’ thanks to the generous support received from Mr Ahmed Abdulla Al Hameli and family from Abu Dhabi. With this, huge volumes of patient samples can be scanned, studied and preserved in much lesser time, thus leading to better diagnosis and management of various eye diseases. The data generated through this has a huge potential to translate into several large-scale research-centric studies and knowledge sharing on a global level. The inauguration happened on 28 November 2019 in presence of Mr Al Hameli and family.
