Dr Swati Singh, Consultant Ophthalmologist at the L V Prasad Eye Institute, has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the esteemed journal Current Eye Research (CER).
Expressing her happiness at being recognized for her research prowess, Dr Swati remarked 'This international academic appointment at a young age is yet another testament to what LVPEI has been practicing for a long time; to encourage and recognize talent, irrespective of age.'
At 37 years of age, Dr Swati Singh is known to be the youngest Editor-in-Chief across all mainstream ophthalmology journals.
When asked what advice she would offer to young individuals interested in academic leadership or editorial work, she shared 'Editorial work is a vital component for advancing science, and researchers should actively engage in it. Stay focused and pursue your academic journey with unwavering discipline and hard work.'
CER is a mainstream ophthalmology journal with over 40 years of history and a current impact factor (IF) rating of 2.1. CER is among the few journals focused on translational research, and considers both clinical and basic science research.
