LVPEI has been actively participating in the ‘Eye Donation Fortnight’, observed every year from 25th August to 8th September. It aims to:
- Raise public awareness on the importance of eye donation
- Motivate people from across all age groups to pledge their eyes for donation
This year marked the 34th Eye Donation Fortnight. A series of activities were organized throughout the LVPEI network, including:
- Awareness talks and lectures in schools, colleges, hospitals and public gatherings
- Theme-based drawing competitions for children
- Displaying awareness posters in public places and screening audiovisual campaigns in cinema halls
- Meetings between recipient and the donor families to allow them to experience the impact of their donation
- Felicitating volunteers involved in this program
