- Mohd Salman, supervised by Dr Vivek Singh and co-supervised by Dr Muralidhar Ramappa, received the grant for his PhD research work titled 'Understanding Congenital Hereditary Endothelial Dystrophy pathogenesis using SLC4A11 knockout cellular model generated via CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing.'
- Sudipta Mahato, under the supervision of Dr Indumathi Mariappan, was awarded the grant for her PhD research work 'En31FnCas9-based adenine base editors for precision editing in patient-specific iPSCs and correction of two pathogenic mutations linked to Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA).'
- Trupti Agrawal, also under the supervision of Dr Indumathi Mariappan, presented her PhD research work titled 'RB1 is indispensable for the terminal differentiation of multipotent neuro-retinal progenitors and the formation of mature retinal cell types'
All awardees of the ICMR Travel Grant will be attending and participating in the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Annual Meeting 2024.
