LVPEI and AIOS team up for 2nd Incubator Start-up Challenge

The L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) and All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) teamed up for the '2nd Incubator Start-up Challenge.' It is LVPEI's flagship event recognizing top global start-ups in eye care innovation. 

The two-day event culminated with the selection of three winners: 
-  Sunbots Innovations LLP emerged as the winner with their groundbreaking 'Assistive Glass Technology for Visually Impaired.'
-  Innovease India Private Limited secured the 1st runner-up position with their innovative 'Portable, Battery Operated and AI-Empowered Cataract Screening Device.'
-  John Davis' revolutionary foldable fundus camera designed for last-mile care, claimed the 2nd runner-up spot!
-  Mr Sambathkumar received a Special Jury Mention for his outstanding concept. 

In addition to cash prizes, the top three winning teams will benefit from free incubation and mentoring support from LVPEI.

The finale also announced the top 3 winners of the ‘AIOS EyeInvent Hackathon’:
-  Winner: Dr Shivraj Tagare
-  1st runner-up: Dr Shivam Gupta
-  2nd runner-up: Dr Namrata Kabra
-  Jury special mention: Dr Sushmita G Shah

Hosted under the BioNEST program by BIRAC, Government of India, LVPEI's incubator offers a prime platform for healthcare innovators to nurture ideas, develop prototypes, and achieve commercial success.  

Distinguished guests included Mr. Ajit Rangnekar, Interim Chief Innovation Officer at Telangana State Innovation Cell and Director General at RICH, Mr. Srinivas Rao Mahankali, CEO of T-Hub, and Dr. Harbhansh Lal, President of AIOS.
