The 3rd edition of the Best of Inherited Retinal Dystrophy (BIRD) webinar was organized on November 23, 2025 and was attended by 51 registrants, and 100 members from across the LVPEI network.
The webinar featured national and international speakers from renowned institutions across Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia and involved a mix of scientific discussions and presentations.
The international speakers included Prof Omar Mahroo, Consultant Ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Dr Artur V Cideciyan, Research Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Pennsylvania, Dr Oliver Marmoy, Specialist Clinical Scientist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, Prof Anthony Robson, Consultant Clinical Scientist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Dr Jasleen Jolly, Founder at Jolly Vision Science, Prof Mariya Moosajee, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Dr Maarten Kamermans, Head of Department at Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience, Assoc Prof Fred Chen, Consultant Ophthalmologist at Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Dr Ajoy Vincent, Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Toronto, and Dr Maria Vittoria Cicinelli, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele.
