LVPEI Hosts ‘Eye on the Future 2025: Strabismus Simplified’ at CSI Bhubaneswar

The Child Sight Institute (CSI) at L V Prasad Eye Institute successfully hosted a theme-based clinical conference titled 'Eye on the Future 2025: Strabismus Simplified' on July 5–6, 2025, at the Mithu Tulsi Chanrai Campus in Bhubaneswar.

The two-day event focused on demystifying the diagnosis and surgical management of strabismus, with an emphasis on translating knowledge into clinical application. Designed to benefit ophthalmologists and trainees, the program was well-attended and received highly positive feedback for its content and delivery.

Key highlights of the program included:
      -  Lectures and demonstrations on horizontal and oblique muscle surgeries
      -  Case-based discussions ranging from common to complex strabismus presentations
      -  Video-Assisted Surgical Training (VAST) followed by hands-on sessions using model eyes
      -  A moderated 'Tug of War' session, encouraging debate on varying surgical approaches
      -  Clinical case presentations by fellows

The conference featured six scientific sessions and a keynote address by Prof Linda Dagi (Boston Children's Hospital & Harvard Medical School), whose participation added significant value to the academic experience.

A total of 105 external delegates participated, both on-site and virtually, alongside CSI faculty and fellows. The event fostered collaborative learning, practical insights, and lively exchange among national and international experts, alumni, CSI faculty, and fellows, whose participation and engagement added significant value to the program.
