LVPEI was an ISF 2023 ‘Knowledge Partner’, along with other premier scientific organisations like the CCMB, TIFR, IISERs, NIN, Science Gallery Bengaluru and others. India Science Festival (ISF) was organized by FAST India (The Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology) in association with Telangana State Innovation Cell. The highlights of LVPEI’s participation:
- Experience centre: Over two days, LVPEI’s experience centre saw thousands of participants explore the biology of an eye, the physics and visual perception that enables our brain to process images, the diseases that may take away vision—and the solutions we have at hand to arrest that loss
- Talks and presentations: The team actively participated in panel discussions, round table discussions, talks and fireside chats
- Awards: Prof Balasubramanian Dorairajan (Emeritus Director Research) was honoured with an award for his stellar contributions to the world of science communication and public outreach and Vijay Reena Durai (Assistant Optometrist) won the ‘Talk your Thesis’ competition.
