The Liberia Ophthalmology In partnership with the Liberian College of Physicians and Surgeons (LCPS), Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) and the Ministry of Health, Government of Liberia, the Ophthalmology Residency Training Program was launched by LVPEI in 2018 at the John F Kennedy Memorial Medical Center, Monrovia, Liberia. Dr Unity Honey Dokie Fahn and Dr George Tamba Bornguoi are the first graduates of this program and the formal graduation ceremony happened on 12 November 2021. It is a historical moment and of great significance to the people in Liberia, and aligned to the aim of LVPEI to make Liberia self-dependent for eye care delivery.
