As part of LVPEI's Continuous Professional Development (CPD) initiatives, a Skill Development Program focusing on 'Neonates and Infants,' was held on September 14, 2025 at the Kallam Anji Reddy Campus in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
The program was attended by 88 participants (OR Nurses, Ward Nurses, Technicians, and ONA Students), equipping them with knowledge and hands-on practice in effectively managing paediatric emergencies, particularly in infants and neonates.
Training Highlights
Participants gained valuable learning and practical exposure in:
- Child & Infant CPR, relief of choking, and airway management
- Neonatal resuscitation and airway care
- Arrest and arrhythmia management, and treatment of paediatric shock
- Paediatric airway workstation & perioperative respiratory emergencies (hypoxia, respiratory depression)
- Management of hypoglycemia, seizures, and status epilepticus
- Management of hyperthermia, hypothermia, postoperative aspiration, and perioperative emergencies
- Delved into case scenarios on Paediatric Emergency focusing on Neonates and Infants.
Additionally, the participants were also trained on managing low-resource emergencies using WETFLAG dosage tools. It is a life-saving quick-reference system to avoid delays or errors in pediatric resuscitation)
