Funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, the Tribal Odisha Eye Disease Study is a research project undertaken by LVPEI in association with SC & ST Research and Training Institute (SCSTRTI) and Odisha PVTG Empowerment & Livelihood Improvement Program (OPELIP). In the next three months, 2600 households of the Dongria Kondh tribal community in the Chatikona village of Rayagada will be screened for early diagnosis and treatment of all kinds of eye disorders. Collector and District Magistrate of Rayagada, Sri Saroj Kumar Mishra OAS (SAG), inaugurated the project.
