Empowering visually impaired people who battle depression and impaired quality of life, and enabling them to achieve their full potential is the constant endeavour of LVPEI’s Institute for Vision Rehabilitation. From providing counselling to making them employment ready to sensitizing employers, the team has a holistic approach. Their collective and dedicated efforts have resulted in self-employment and job placement for 300 people to date. This July saw maximum placement with salaries ranging up to 50,000 per month. Antony Leo Raj had aspired to become a SAP trainer, but vision loss due to retinal detachment shattered his dream. The training and counselling he received helped him regain his confidence and also secure a job at the Alumni group of Osmania University. Ramalakshmi had one eye vision. She lost her job during the lockdown, and her daily survival was at threat. She was provided grocery support and also a travel allowance to attend the computer training. Her happiness knew no bounds when recently she got placed at Essence Info Service Pvt Ltd. Abhishek Kumar Singh of Kolkata, has been battling Glaucoma since 2018. He was provided training through Telerehabilitation and was thrilled to be appointed as a Telecaller with RK Info-Systems. Deloitte, Canara Bank and Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank are a few other reputed companies where our clients were placed this month.
