If you happen to visit LVPEI’s Arjun Waney Eye Centre at Berhampur in Odisha, you will come across the ever-smiling and pleasantly groomed Vision Technicians (VTs) – 24-year old Pratibha and 22-year old Jitendra. Extremely dedicated and hardworking, Pratibha is best known for her refraction skills and Jitendra for his diagnostic skills. Pratibha stands true to the value of ‘Patient First’ and is always extremely pleasant to the patients. “LVPEI is high on integrity and the values it stands for. It gives me immense satisfaction that I am working for such a credible institute,” says Pratibha, who completed her vision technician course at LVPEI with a gold medal and now aspires to pursue her graduation in Optometry. When the mobile diagnostic van comes to the centre (once a month), Jitendra skilfully performs all the advanced diagnostic examinations for the patients and is a great asset to the team there. He fondly remembers the days he spent at the Bausch and Lomb School of Optometry at LVPEI doing his VT course and says, 'At LVPEI, there is never a dearth of opportunities to learn and grow, and that is why I love working for this institute.'
