LVPEI in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank launched two new programmes to improve eye care delivery - the “Standard Chartered- LVPEI Programme for Eye Care Education” and “Technology- Enabled Primary Eye Care Services” on October 3, 2019.
The collaborative education program aims at developing high quality, pan India eye care education framework and thus required eye care professionals to address the burden of visual impairment in India whereas the futuristic vision centre model envisages establishing 58 futuristic primary centres that will be capable of detecting chronic eye conditions that are currently beyond the realm of primary eye care across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Karnataka by 2023.
