Community based low vision rehabilitation program in Hyderabad slums

The two years long community based low vision rehabilitation program supported by Microsoft India Development Center in Hyderabad slums, integrating low vision and early intervention services, got successfully completed on 31st March 2019. The project coverage is as below: 

  • 1,50,000 population in 96 slums covered
  • 1458 people screened through 20 community screening programs
  • 9438 government school children screened through 24 screening programs
  • 475 people received rehabilitation care 
  • 2 people with a disability received economic rehabilitation
  • 22 people benefited from the distribution of aids and appliances and spectacles distributed to 486 people
