LVPEI-IITH-CCMB Researchers Bag Coveted Translational Research Award

The LVPEI-IITH-CCMB Researchers Bag Coveted Translational Research Award – Sree RamaKrishna Parahamsa Research Grant 2021 Award. The grant is for the project Biomimetic hydrogel for the treatment of blinding corneal diseases. It proposes to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a novel and proprietary biomimetic hydrogel (patent pending) along with unique mesenchymal stem cells derived from the human eye for the treatment of corneal wounds. ‘This project provides hope to not only all patients with corneal blindness, it also specifically targets a large proportion of patients who otherwise carry poor prognosis for corneal transplantation,’ said the committee that evaluated the project.
